Description

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency is seeking a permanent full time Facilities Technician.  Reporting to the Facilities Coordinator, the incumbent will apply knowledge and technical expertise in structure electrical and environmental systems to ensure the effective delivery of public safety telecommunications services.  The successful applicant will be headquartered in Prince Albert and is required to provide technical support for the Provincial Public Safety Telecommunications Network (PPSTN) and Technical Services Unit.

The PPSTN Facilities Technician is responsible for approximately 300 equipment enclosures located throughout Saskatchewan. These services delivered include electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and other trades.

What can I expect to do in this role:

-Identify, design, select, implement, develop, and contribute to the development of technical policies and procedures, tracking mechanisms (databases etc.), and client training;
-accurately identify issues, concerns or problems consider various options and determine and implement an appropriate course of action;
-plan, prioritize, organize and manage a large volume of tasks and projects taking into consideration frequent interruptions and conflicting and changing priorities to meet strict deadlines;
-work independently and cooperatively with others in a team environment to establish, build and maintain positive working relationships and ensure deadlines, goals and objectives are met;
-present technical solutions and user training to non-technical clients; and

Qualifications:

-Must have a Journeypersons Electrical certification;
