Description

The Human Resources Manager, reporting to the Director of Operations, will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organizations Human Resources Department by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Bachelors in Business Administration, Commerce or Human Resources;
Working knowledge of compensation and job evaluation concepts;
Excellent organizational, strategic planning and implementation skills;
Working knowledge of employment, human rights, and labour law;
Demonstrated professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive information;
Previous experience with Hiring, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Communication Processes, Compensation and Wage Structure, Federal Labour Standards Law;
Knowledge of federal structures including legislation, policies, and programs relevant to First Nations.
JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledgeable about Treaty Four and First Nation governance, public and business administration;
The ability to lead by personal example and to motivate and develop a capable work force in a fair and effective manner, based on the team approach and consistent with policies of the Nation;
Works in conjunction with Program Managers to prepare/perform employee job evaluations;
Maintains employee benefits programs;;
guidelines by preparing, updating and recommending human resource policies and procedures;
Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, interview and hiring processes for the Nation;
Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions;
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource under the federal requirements, conducting educational programs on benefit programs;
The successful candidate shall be subject to a satisfactory criminal records check.
