A Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) Provides personal care and activities of daily living for clients/patients/residents to encourage optimum level of functioning. Supports clients/patients/residents in meeting their physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs.
CCAs who work at the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) primarily work in long-term care or acute care with a team made of nurses, physicians and other health-care workers. CCAs work in shifts that usually include evenings and weekends, as access to care for patients may be required 24/7.
Education:
Continuing Care Assistant certificate (CCA)
Competencies:
Basic - Computer skills
Organizational skills
Communication skills
Interpersonal skills
Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to work independently
Other Information
Conditional hire must complete required education/equivalent within 2 years
Food Safe certificate, where required
