Description

Quint Development Corporation is a dynamic community-based organization that fosters sustainable development and positive change in Saskatoon's core neighbourhoods. Our team is passionate about creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for residents in the neighbourhoods we serve. We are seeking a Lead Hand to work in our construction work integration programs which employ individuals facing barriers to employment such as previous contact with the justice system, housing insecurity, lack of education and experience, etc.

The Lead Hand provides supervisory support on jobsites that include construction, land and streetscaping as well as additional work dependent on public and private contracts.

EXPERIENCE:
- Construction / landscaping
- Supervisory or mentorship capacity would be an asset

40 hours (Mon-Fri), Blue Cross, RRSP matching, wage starting at 22.06/hr based on experience & suitability

DUTIES:
-Perform all project related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
-Supervise junior crewmembers while providing instruction and guidance
-Mentor junior crewmembers while promoting personal and professional growth
-Evaluate performance and ensure positive progress toward job goals
-Ensure OH&S standards are being met and job sites are clean and safe
-Ensure crew have the required tools and materials to complete tasks in a timely manner
-Perform site inspections to ensure work is done to a high standard
-Transport employees to and from job sites

EXPERIENCE:
-Construction knowledge: painting, drywall, framing, flooring, minor electrical and plumbing, interior/exterior finishing, concrete
-Knowledge in landscaping: equipment operation and maintenance, safe work habits
-Excellent organization and time management
-Strong communication skills

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
