JNE Welding is one of the most diverse custom steel fabricators in Western Canada providing engineer-to-order, custom steel fabrications We are an employer of choice creating meaningful opportunities for Saskatchewan workers.
We are currently hiring Level 2 Apprentices or Journeyperson Steel Fabricators who have experience with various custom heavy plate, vessels, tanks, piping, and structural projects. The primary responsibilities of the role will include:
Responsible for working in accordance with OH&S regulations, JNE safe work procedures, ISO procedures, and JNE Values/Code of Conduct.
Interpret drawings and weld symbols and organize workspace and equipment.
Understand schedule requirements and perform work efficiently to meet schedule and estimates.
Fabricate, fit, and tack fabrications according to specifications and drawings. Verify the consumable, shielding gas, and welding parameters of the welding equipment in relation to the weld specification of each weld.
Weld fabrications.
Material handling and moving of finished product.
Responsible use of consumables and raw materials.
Final verification of dimensions and weld preps on the fabrications prior to Quality Assurance checking the fabrication and identifying that it is ready to weld.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Minimum Level 2 Apprenticeship or Journeyperson status as a Steel Fabricator.
Minimum 2 years of metal/steel fabrication experience.
Ability to interpret drawings, weld symbols, and weld procedure data sheets
ASME IX 1G Roll
ASME Section IX - 484 Flat certification
CWB W47.1 MCAW / FCAW Flat certification
GTAW experience.
Experience with cranes and rigging (40-hour Crane Training).
