Description

Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Technician Operator, you will play a key role in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment used in paving and road construction projects. The technician ensures that all machinery operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity on job sites. This position requires hands-on technical expertise in operating, diagnosing mechanical issues and performing repairs, often in outdoor, high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
    Operating paving equipment while ensuring best practices around safety and communication amongst the construction team.
    Perform routine maintenance on paving machines, asphalt rollers, compactors, and other heavy construction equipment to ensure their optimal performance and longevity.
    Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in machinery used for paving projects. Perform necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure minimal disruption to construction timelines.
    Implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment, including asphalt plants, paving machines, and trucks, to prevent breakdowns and extend the life of the equipment.
    Provide on-site mechanical support during paving operations, ensuring all machines are functioning properly and assisting in quick repairs to reduce downtime.
    Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of machinery, ensuring that all equipment is properly configured for site-specific conditions.
    Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and mechanical components needed for equipment repairs, ensuring timely availability to prevent work stoppages.
    Ensure all mechanical work complies with company and industry safety standards. Maintain proper documentation of repairs, inspections, and safety checks.
