Description

The Bylaw Officer with Compliance Inspector duties will work under the direction of the Zagim Cannabis Board Chairperson and the Compliance Officer, with oversight from the Director of Lands and Infrastructure. The role involves training as a Compliance Inspector, ensuring compliance with Zagim bylaws and Cannabis Regulations, and acting as the primary contact for related inquiries
DUTIES:
Adapt to new technology and maintain tactful, professional interactions.
Ensure consistent monitoring of Zagim bylaws and relevant policies on Zagim lands through patrols, inspections, and documentation.
Liaise between the public and Zagim administration regarding compliance issues.
Assist in the development and amendment of administrative processes, bylaws, and policies.
Participate in training to conduct compliance inspections for cannabis operations, working closely with the Zagim Cannabis Board on local cannabis law enforcement.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Complete a 52-week training program by the Zagim Cannabis Board to become a Compliance Inspector.
Learn to inspect and regulate local cannabis retail, processing, and cultivation operations.
Achieve competencies in cannabis science, inspection standards, health and safety regulations, and regulatory enforcement.
Pass periodic tests to ensure progress toward learning objectives.
SKILLS:
Diplomatic, congenial with community members, and able to represent Zagim positively.
Medically and physically fit for outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Proficient in both office work and outdoor inspections.
Comfortable interacting with employees, management, and the public.
Experience conducting presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to interpret legal documents, bylaws, and legislation.
Calm under pressure and capable of managing conflicting demands.
Proficient with various software applications.
