Description

The Family Violence Prevention Coordinator oversees the delivery of services to individuals and families at risk of violence. Responsibilities include direct support, program administration, and collaboration with community partners and the North of 54 Advisory Committee. The coordinator ensures trauma-informed care, focusing on safety planning, crisis intervention, counseling, and advocacy. Additionally, they facilitate outreach initiatives and community awareness to align services with both client needs and broader community safety goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the Family Violence Prevention Program, ensuring alignment with safety and prevention goals.
- Provide direct client support through crisis intervention, safety planning, case management, and counseling services.
- Collaborate with community partners and the North of 54 Advisory Committee to ensure comprehensive client support.
- Organize and lead group sessions, workshops, and community campaigns focused on family violence prevention.
- Maintain confidential records and complete required reports in line with ministry and agency standards.
- Train and mentor staff, ensuring adherence to trauma-informed care and mandatory reporting of child abuse.
- Advocate for clients, connecting them with external services like healthcare, legal support, and housing.
- Conduct outreach visits to northern communities to provide support to remote populations.
- Participate in program evaluations to ensure alignment with best practices and adapt to community needs.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support program effectiveness and organizational goals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in family violence intervention, crisis response, or a related area.
- Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.
- Class 5 driver's license.
