As an Addictions Counsellor with the Metis Addictions Council of Saskatchewan Inc. (MACSI), you will have the opportunity to be work with clients in all areas of our addictions services. Addictions Counsellors play a pivotal role in ensuring our continued addiction services to our clients in our community. You will provide strong knowledge and effective methods of counselling principles, strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills. You will report directly to the Regional Manager. This position is a permanent full time. Expected hours of work is 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. This position is open to applicants of all genders.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Dynamic supervision and monitoring of the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our clients
-Co-facilitate individual, family and group counselling sessions according to individualized treatment plans
-Supervise/monitor client conduct, and maintain records of client activity
-Interview clients, review files, and evaluate our clients to determine their suitability for participation in our programming
-Provide crisis intervention and support
-Ensure programming functions consistently with the treatment program objectives
-Develop client treatment plans and case file management
-Perform various clerical duties
-Perform substance abuse testing for clients in our program(s)
Among these responsibilities, you will bring to this role an Addictions Counselling Diploma, Chemical Dependency Diploma, Community Services Addictions Diploma, or an applicable University Degree or Human Services Course completion.
