Description

The City of Melfort is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Aquatic Supervisor to join our team for a Temporary 1-year full-time position. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about aquatic programs and community engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities:
    Oversee the daily operations of the aquatic facility, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.
    Assign, schedule, train, supervise and monitor the work of aquatic employees.
    Provide regular in-service training to ensure staff are currently certified in required areas to latest industry trends and provide opportunities to maintain current qualifications.
    Work with partners such as the Lifesaving Society on ensuring lessons are current and new initiatives are adopted.
    Schedule advanced courses as needed.
    Follow City of Melfort Safety Plan and ensure all public health regulations are met.
    Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance aquatic services.

Qualifications and Requirements:
    Current National Lifeguard Certification
    Lifesaving Instructor
    Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED
    Criminal record check with vulnerable sector
    WHMIS
    Pool Operators
    Lifesaving Society Aquatic Supervisor Training (AST)

Abilities & Skills:
    Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
    Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
    Excellent communication skills
    Ability to plan, organize, schedule, instruct, and evaluate program activities
    Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to aquatic facilities
