Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee our accounting department and ensure the accurate and efficient execution of financial processes. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a small team and overseeing various aspects of the accounting cycle, including payroll, PST and GST remittance, month-end financials, and year-end preparation for CPA review. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure accurate and timely remittance of PST and GST.
- Prepare month-end financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the year-end financial audit process, preparing necessary documentation for CPA review.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
