The Energy Program & Engagement Manager is a key, hybrid role within the Saskatoon & Region Home Builders Association (SRHBA), focused on program development, industry support, and energy efficiency standards expertise. As part of both the SRHBA team and a broader province-wide team of eight, the successful candidate will support the residential construction industrys adoption of tiered energy codes and progression toward net-zero construction. This role is essential in driving SRHBAs member engagement, awareness, education, and training initiatives, contributing directly to the organizations core pillars and business activities. Key responsibilities include developing resources, organizing events, engaging stakeholders, and delivering training programs to advance energy-efficient building practices.
This role involves a moderate level of autonomy. While decisions regarding specific code compliance or regulatory interpretation may require input from technical experts, the Energy Program Consultant & Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring that resources, communications, and programs effectively meet the needs of stakeholders and align with provincial energy efficiency goals.
This position also supports the $4.8 million Code Acceleration Funding (CAF) initiative by developing learning platforms, workshops, and instructional materials, working closely with municipal officials, industry professionals, and government bodies to disseminate critical information related to the National Building Code (NBC), National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB), and related regulations.
Additionally, this role will collaborate with the Building and Technical Standards (BTS) Branch, which oversees building standards in Saskatchewan, including energy efficiency and construction codes. The Director of Energy Code Implementation is located within BTS and works closely with stakeholders, including SRHBA, to ensure the successful adoption and implementation of energy codes.
