Description

The Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, self-directed, and organized individual to fill a one-year term position as Youth Wellness Program Coordinator in Fort QuAppelle, SK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  
Planning, developing, implementation, evaluation and reporting of health and wellness programming for youth.
Coordinating and facilitating youth-based health and wellness programming and/or training using both contemporary non-Indigenous therapeutic techniques with traditional healing practices.
Establish and maintain relationships with external agencies to enhance and expand services to the First Nations communities.

EDUCATION:  
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:  
Knowledge and commitment to the philosophy and objectives of the FHQ Tribal Council
Knowledge of the historical and current social issues relating to First Nations communities and people

EXPERIENCE
Experience working in health and wellness programming targeted towards First Nation individuals, families and communities.
Experience collaborating and working with colleagues and external partners/agenciesincluding First Nation communities.
Experience in the program development of and delivery of Trauma Informed Care treatment and counselling methods with children and youth
Experience in youth health and wellness program.  
Knowledge and Experience in researching and proposal writing.
