Description

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Childcare Coordinator and Aboriginal Head Start Coordinator, this position will provide technical expertise coordinating and monitoring the FHQTC Child Day Care and Aboriginal Head Start Programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the childcare facilities are adhering to the File Hills QuAppelle Child Care Regulations and Policies and Aboriginal Head Start Guidelines.
Assess and monitor day care centres and family day homes to ensure a safe, healthy, stimulating environment for children.
To liaison and consult with FHQ Environmental Health, FHQ Technical Services and FHQ Health, to coordinate an effective licensing system for on-reserve day care services.
Attend and prepare for regular meetings of the Board and Child Day Care/Aboriginal Head Start Meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience in an Administrative role for minimum 1 year.
Post-Secondary Education in Early Childhood Development/Special Education and Office Administration
would be an asset.
Must have valid First Aid and Level C CPR, Safe Food Handling, WHMIS certificates. Willing to obtain in first 3 months of employment
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook, MS Teams) Zoom and Adobe Acrobat
Working knowledge of Child Daycare and Aboriginal Head Start Policies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Perform data entry and maintain a competent filing system
Prepare for and attend local and out of town meetings, annual licensing and team strategic planning
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
Must have experience working with First Nations and familiarity with customs, cultures, and traditions.
