Hours of Work: 37.5 hours weekly, evenings and weekend availability

Position Description:
YWCA Regina is opening a new Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Hub in 2024 and is seeking a dynamic Mental Health and Addictions Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Community Programs, the Coordinator will provide support to youth aged 12-25 experiencing complex needs, including mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and those who may be homeless or living in poverty. In addition to offering harm reduction services to youth accessing the hub, this role will support the IYS Youth Hub and YWCA staff with harm reduction methods and approaches. This may include offering training related to harm reduction to youth, staff, and community members. The coordinator will focus on early intervention, education, brief treatment, and connecting youth to specialized services related to mental health and addictions as needed. This position will collaborate with community partners and YWCA staff to foster a supportive, trauma-informed environment. It will also emphasize education, outreach, and psychoeducation to promote mental wellness and resilience among youth. The role may evolve based on community needs and program growth and may include specific projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in social work, Psychology, Addictions Counselling, or a related human services field.
Experience working in mental health or addiction services, with a focus on youth.
Familiarity with trauma-informed care, harm reduction principles, and Indigenous cultural traditions.
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with complex care needs, including youth experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, or substance use.
Strong case management and counselling skills.
Experience in group facilitation and des-escalation.
Knowledge of local mental health and addiction
