Description

The Before and After School Care Worker will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for students in Kindergarten to Grade 7 during the before and after school hours. This role involves supervising and facilitating age-appropriate activities, ensuring the well-being of students, and maintaining open communication with parents/guardians and school staff.

Roles & Responsibilities:
    Supervise students during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being;
    Plan and organize age-appropriate activities to promote social, emotional, and physical development;
    Assist students with homework assignments and provide educational support when needed;
    Create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters respect, teamwork, and positive behavior;
    Engage students in recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, and games;
    Implement established routines for arrival, departure, and transitions between activities;
    Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns;
    Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure continuity in student care and support;
    Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and any relevant information;
    Adhere to school policies and procedures, including emergency procedures and health and safety guidelines;
    Foster a positive relationship with students, promoting a sense of belonging and community;
    Complete required paperwork and documentation, including Vulnerable Sector searches and CPIC checks;
    Stay informed about relevant regulations, licensing requirements, and best practices in before and after school care.
