Description

YWCA Regina is opening a new Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Hub in 2024 and is seeking a compassionate and driven Youth Support Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Community Programs, the Youth Support Coordinator will work directly with youth aged 12-25 experiencing complex challenges such as mental health, substance use disorders, poverty, and homelessness. This role focuses on advocating for youth in medical, legal, justice and social service systems, ensuring that their needs are met, and their voices are heard. The Youth Support Coordinator will be responsible for providing one-on-one support, accompanying youth to as an advocate to medical appointments, legal proceedings, and social service engagements, and navigating systems to ensure access to essential care and services. This role also emphasizes collaboration with community partners, service navigation, and relationship-building to support youth through holistic, trauma-informed, and culturally respectful advocacy. The role of the coordinator may vary based on the needs of the community and program growth and may also include specific projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in justice studies, law, social work, or related field.
Experience working with youth involved in the justice system or facing systemic barriers.
Strong communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to provide integrated support.
Familiarity with Indigenous cultures and the impacts of colonialism on justice and social systems.
Evening and weekend availability.
Strong case management and counselling skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent organizational, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
Valid Class 5 driver's license and First Aid/CPR certification.
