ADULT MENTOR -
The Mentoring program provides person centered supports to adults with cognitive disabilities. The Mentor will be a strong advocate to deliver a culturally relevant, client centered and strength based approached services. This will include: basic life skills, social/recreation skills and navigating systems to ensure best quality of life.
Qualifications:
-Post Secondary Degree or certification
-Social Work or relevant Social Science
-Combination of Education and experience may be considered.
-Knowledge of FASD and/or acquired brain injuries
-Demonstrate the ability to be innovative, open-minded, and creative
Essential Skills:
-Computer knowledge, which include databases.
-Believe in continuous learning and professional development.
-Quick decision making problem solving and critical thinking.
-Motivational interviewing
-Mediation/crisis intervention
-Effective time Management, and organization skills
-Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
-Able to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends.
Security, Safety, and Transportation:
-Driving Abstract Check
-Driver Validity license check
-Criminal Record check
-CPR/First Aid Certificate
-Insurable vehicle
