Description

As the premiere values-based builder of health, leadership and personal development, we focus our program delivery on our three pillars of service: health and fitness, community development, and childcare.

If you want to help make a difference in the lives of youth in Regina, we have a great opportunity for you. The Youth Mentor will assist in executing the Beyond the Bell Mentorship Program. This program is offered in various schools around Regina and at a YMCA program site. This position requires you to build relationships with youth, act as a positive role model and facilitate meaningful workshops to Youth Mentorship groups throughout the week to students in grades 1-12. Some evening work may be required.

Responsibilities:
* Implement programming at various schools in a small group setting.
* Creating and facilitating interactive workshops for a small group of youth ages 6-15.
* Building relationships and providing mentorship to youth referred to YMCA Mentorship Program
* Comply with all YMCA Child Protection Policy and Procedures and complete all Child Protection training as required.
* Communicating program success and activities to program participants, their family and through the Y network.

Requirements:
* Ability to build relationships and work with youth is an asset, especially those with challenging behaviours
* Self-motivated and be able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
* Demonstrate the ability to be a positive role model, mentor and authentic leader
* Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* A Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date
* Must have update CPR and First Aid upon start date
* Valid driver's license
