Job Brief:
The Canora Nursery School is looking to hire a qualified part time teacher for the 2024/25 school year.  The qualified applicant will prepare children, ages three to five, for kindergarten by easing them into organized education. This position will be two days a week  with flexible dates. Hours would be approximately 10hr/wk. Rate of pay $16/hr.

Responsibilities:
* Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
* Foster a positive and healthy learning environment
* Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
* Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self esteem
* Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional disagreements
* Guide children to develop artistic and practical capabilities through a constructed curriculum (identify shapes, colors, numbers, letters, perform crafts, etc.)
* Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Requirements:
* Early Childhood Education (Would be considered an asset, but not a requirement)
* Experience working with children
* Excellent knowledge of educational techniques and methods for teaching young children
* CPR & First Aid (Must be completed prior to start of the school year)
* Valid drivers license
* Criminal Record Check; including vulnerable sector check
