Regina Immigrant Women Centre (RIWC) is recruiting for its program: Youth Employment and Skills Strategy to Advance Immigrant Youth (YES-STAIY)- under the Employment and Social Development Canadas (ESDC) Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS).
Prepare course outlines, to include course-specific lesson plans that meet instructional objectives focusing on business communication, interviewing skills, resume and cover letter writing, job searching and financial literacy;
Revise curriculum outlines, syllabus, lesson plans, hand-outs, exercises and presentations;
Provide in class course-specific instruction and skills training;
Develop and implement student learning outcomes;
Conduct the follow-up, evaluation process, and activity reports for each youth and supporting the youth where needed;
Monitor the progress of clients with the Job Developer;
Perform interview preps with the participants
Document and assess the students for reporting to Manager, ED and Funders;
Provide support to the YES-STAIY Job Developer to ensure clients are employable and ready for the labor market;
Participate in the follow-up / wellness drop in sessions to ensure clients are getting the best from their placement.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
QUALIFICATION:
Bachelors degree and 1-2 years related experience teaching diverse student populations, especially newcomer and immigrant students
Knowledge of the current Saskatchewan/local labour market initiatives and Employment Standards
Knowledge of adult learning principles and methods
Knowledge of multi-cultural beliefs, values and perspectives
Knowledge of methods, theories, and approaches related to Youth career counseling and assessment
Working knowledge of computer-based software programs
Strong organizational skills, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to work with minimum guidance and under strict timelines
