The Library Clerk-Driver, under the supervision of the Assistant Director/Branch Manager is
responsible for the pick-up and delivery of library materials throughout the Wheatland service
area and assisting all Central services departments. This position has both regular weekly driving
days as well as regular office days. The Library Clerk-Driver also fills in for the full-time driver
when required. Internal relationships include working collegially and productively with all Central
Services staff. External relationships include working with community librarians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize and load delivery van
Deliver and pick-up materials from branches in the region
Independently troubleshoot, resolve issues, and communicate problems and solutions
back to supervisor
Assist with maintaining vehicles
Assist with building maintenance as required
Undertake minor errands as required
Responsible for receiving and sorting materials from libraries
Create item records for new materials
Withdrawal of materials from system
Assist other departments as assigned
Work as a contributing member of the Central Services support team
Required Qualifications:
High School Graduation
Valid drivers license and the ability to drive throughout the region as required;
exemplary driving record (Drivers Abstract will be required)
Computer proficiency, e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Drive
Good problem-solving skills
Effective communication and customer service skills; organizational skills; flexibility;
ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Able to lift and move boxes/delivery bins up to 50 pounds

A current acceptable Criminal Record Check is required
