Description

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Processing, shelving, shelf reading, circulation, and cataloging.
Use POLARIS LIBRARY WORLD and LEAP Library Systems as part of daily work
Supervise and train staff, volunteers and students to assist with the work of the library
Maintaining the catalogue of the collection at the school library, on card or in the computer including filling out card order slips, card filing or database input in cooperation with the Saskatchewan Library
Planning the operational and capital budget for the Library and recommending it to the Principal and to the School Committee
Developing and maintaining a working relationship with agencies affecting library services such as Pahkisimon Nuye-Ah Library, Saskatchewan Provincial Library, and Saskatchewan Education
Develop, implement and evaluate programs for the school and community and in coordination with established regional, provincial and national programs including the Northern Reading Program and Family Literacy Program
Ability to select books and material for the reference and general collection in cooperation with teachers and administration
Setting out a schedule for book exchange by all the classes
Ability to work closely with other agencies, including other staff
Provide programming to classrooms in library setting
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Grade 12 education
Previous experience in a library work setting is preferred
Experience with POLARIS and LEAP Library Systems will be given preference
Manage a library and its collection
Team building, organizational and written skills
Effective verbal, presentation and listening skills
Computer skills
Must provide satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check and Drivers Abstract
