Job Summary: The role of an Educational Assistant is to work within an inclusive education model to support the independence and achievement of students with intensive needs. While specific responsibilities vary by assignment, Educational Assistants provide a range of supports including:
- Personal care needs as required
- Individual and/or small group supervision
- Assistance with the implementation of behavioural intervention plans
- Review and practice of specific skills for individual and/or small group instruction
Required Qualifications:
- Training beyond Grade 12 related to supporting children and youth with intensive needs
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team within schools and with First Nations, Metis and Inuit families and communities
- Strong communication skills
- Successful related experience
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in response to varied program needs
- Knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Metis and Inuit history, cultures and perspectives
- Ability to support personal care needs as required
- Commitment to the ideals and principles of Catholic education
These particular positions will play an important role in supporting Indigenous student success. All qualified candidates will be considered, however, preference will be given to First Nations, Metis and Inuit candidates.
Terms of Employment:
- As per Collective Agreement
- 3.0 hrs/day (schedules TBD) and 6.0 hrs/day
- To begin asap and continue to June 26, 2025, or earlier if the needs of the division change
- Salary range $24.17 to $27.68 per hour
