Description

We are looking to hire part-time Program Leaders at the BGC Yorkton (formally known as the Boys & Girls Club of Yorkton). A Program Leader builds positive relationships and connections with children, youth & families in the community. They encourage and engage youth in productive activities. A Program Leader will treat children and youth with respect and acceptance. We are hiring Program Leaders to work with youth ages 12 through 18. Program Leaders are responsible for planning and implementing quality opportunities for children and youth in the community.  The position runs through to the end of June 2025, with options to apply for additional contract terms. Duties include managing safety protocols and procedures, providing creative and engaging programming, leading quality activities, tracking participant information and attendance, providing feedback, fostering the development of children & youth, and acting as a positive, responsible role model to those we serve.  Program Leaders have contact with children and youth, parents/guardians, co-workers, community partners, and volunteers.  They will interact with partner organizations, other agencies, media, and the community at large.  The individual must possess strong communication and leadership skills and be an active team member.

For the 2024-2025 School Year, shifts will fall within after school and 8:15 pm on weekdays.

Qualifications:
- Experience working with children and youth is an asset
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Must provide and maintain a clear Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
