Description

As one of the primary brand ambassadors at Gateway Co-operative, this role is instrumental to the customer service relationship and the enhancement of the overall customers experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Upholds the Co-operatives standard for guest service excellence and will be expected to resolve customer concerns within established guidelines.
    Operate the pumps and equipment used to store and dispense fuel to vehicles, monitoring inventory levels and ensuring that the pumps are working properly.
    Assist customers with propane filling and exchanges.
    Ensures the security and proper handling of all cash (makes correct change and balances cash) and credit card transactions according to established procedures.
    Wash windshields, offer customers to check windshield washer fluid and motor oil levels.
    Observe safety measures and report hazardous conditions immediately to the Manager or designate.
    Perform all aspects of filling appropriate propane filling and exchanges
    Assist with regular clean-up duties to ensure an efficient safe and clean gas station is maintained.
    Present a neat, clean, well-merchandised department and related work areas (including the gas bar, parking lot, and washrooms).
    Any other duties needed to help to drive Gateway Co-ops vision and abide by our co-operatives values of responsibility, respect and excellence.

CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS
    Must be 16 years of age or older.
    Retail working experience is considered an asset.
    High school diploma or working on completion of a high school diploma.
    Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
    Good communication and organizational skills.
    Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
