Description

We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and playful Casual Educators to join our team on a casual part-time basis.

The casual team member will cover vacation and sick leaves for permanent staff.  Without ECE certification, you can work a max of 65 hours a month. If you have certification , you can work full time hours if needed.

Training/Education
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level I-III or the willingness to complete classes to obtain certification is optional
- No prior training needed to work fewer than 65 hours a month.  Training will be provided on the job by our permanent ECE staff.

Other requirements:
- Must be able to produce a clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check prior to hire date

Job Purpose
-Provide a safe, educating and nurturing environment to all children within the childcare centre.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Support head teachers to:
- Plan and implement age appropriate activities
- Develop and implement daily classroom schedules
- Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
- Lead children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and demonstrating the use of simple musical instruments
- Prepare art materials and assist children in using them
- Provide opportunity for creativity through the mediums of art, dramatic play, musical and physical fitness
- Assess the developmental level of children through observation and documentation
- Take responsibility for individual classroom organization, ensuring clean, neat and tidy appearance at all times
- Ensure medication reports, incident reports and injury reports are documented
- Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Assist supervisor in keeping records when requested
- Follow and respect the guidelines and procedures regarding confidentiality of children, families and co-workers
- Provide daily feedback to parents about children's day
