We are seeking a full-time farm labourer for a family grain farm in West Central Saskatchewan. Applicant must be willing to work long hours/weekends/holidays in seeding, spraying, harvest and fall season up until the snow flies. Hours will be more flexible in the winter months. We offer competitive wages in a safe, stable working environment. On the job training and assistance to find housing nearby will be provided.
Applicants must:
Work well independently and with a team
Be mechanically enclined
Be flexible, reliable and hard working
Have excellent communication skills in English
Be physically fit for a daily combination of sitting, standing, walking, crunching, heavy lifting, etc.
Hold a valid Class 5 Drivers license Class 3A and/or 1A drivers license a definite asset
Have reliable transportation to and from work
Have farm experience
Be able to problem solve and think critically
Be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Possess good hand eye coordination skills
Possess good sound discrimination for equipment operation
Be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
Be able to back up equipment with trailers, augers, conveyors, etc., in tow
Be willing to find information and engage in continuous learning
Be able to work with GPS and computer monitored systems in equipment
Submit a criminal record check for review and approval
Operation/maintenance/repair of the following equipment will be required:
Grain truck (manual transmission with air brakes)
Semi truck and trailer (would be an asset)
Pick up trucks (manual and automatic)
Tractors
Swather
Combine
Fertilizer equipment
Augers
Forklift
Loader
Backhoe
Seeding equipment
Rock picker
Roller
Sprayer
Baler
Vertical tillage equipment
Grain drying equipment
GPS devices in equipment
