Description

SREDA is seeking a highly motivated individual to assume the role of Specialist, Economic Intelligence. Under the direction of the Manager of Economic Intelligence, this individual will assist in analyzing and interpreting economic data and research to support SREDA's work across all priority areas.

Key Responsibilities:

- Data Analysis & Research: Collect, analyze and interpret economic, demographic and market data from various sources to identify trends and opportunities impacting the regional economy.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that communicate economic trends and forecasts.
- Industry & Market Analysis: Conduct industry and company-specific research to identify growth opportunities, competitive advantages and potential challenges within the region.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with businesses, government agencies, and community partners to gather intelligence and provide economic insights.
- Monitoring & Tracking: Continuously monitor key economic indicators, market conditions, and policy developments and provide timely updates and insights.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in economic research, data analysis, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of current economic trends and key issues impacting businesses and the local economy.
- Written Communication: Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate reports that translate complex data into digestible insights.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets and reports.
