Victoria East Medical Clinic is seeking a Nurse Manager to mentor and work alongside a team of dedicated nurses for a busy family practice setting. Hours: Rotated on a bi-weekly schedule
Monday-Wednesday 7:15am 3:30pm
Monday-Thursday 7:15am 3:30pm
Allotted 8 additional hours of admin time every 2 weeks
This position does require open availability to cover sick time/holidays.
Must be a current member of CRNS
Management experience is an asset
Excellent communication skills
A criminal record check dated within the past six months is required
The Nurse Manager will have the specific knowledge, skills and accountability for nursing operations. The nurse manager uses analytical and critical thinking skills in addressing all matters related to nursing operations, human resources and is fiscally responsible. The nurse manager works cooperatively with staff, department heads, clinic manager and owners. Operational, financial or human resource decisions, related to the nursing department, are brought to the nurse manager prior to being implemented or communicated to nursing staff. In addition to managerial responsibilities, duties include;
Ready patients for physicians, medication administration
Perform ECGs, visual acuity, urinalysis, pregnancy and blood sugar tests
Process lab specimens, dressing changes, assist with office procedures (suturing, mole removals and IUD inserts)
Notify patients of physician's instructions, test results, INR instructions
Arrange winrho injections, iron infusions, phlebotomies and home care
Address patient concerns
Maintain infection control
Advocate for patients.
