Description

Hours of Work: 37.5 per week  working a combination of 9a-5p and 1p-9p

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Housing, and as a part of the team consisting of the Assistant Director of Outreach, Assistant Director of Shelters, and the Director of Womens Housing, the Case Coordinator will provide support from a Trauma Informed, culturally sensitive perspective to women, children, and families with complex barriers to meet their basic needs for housing, food, and safety.

Qualifications:  
    Experience working with Indigenous communities and cultures;
    Bachelors degree in Social Work, Justice Studies, or other human service field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience;
    2 or more years of case management experience is preferred;
    Demonstrated experience working with the complex needs of people experiencing homelessness;
    Knowledge of the Child Welfare system, Trauma Informed Care, and Family Violence would be an asset;
    Ability to work independently and with a team;
    Accurate record keeping ability and basic computer skills (knowledge of HIFIS would be an asset);
    Good communication and organizational abilities;
    Crisis intervention skills;
    Knowledge of the processes of colonialism and their impacts on Indigenous people and communities;
    Class 5 drivers license; and
    Valid First Aid/CPR certification
