The Kinistin Saulteaux Nation is seeking a dynamic, motivated, qualified and reliable individual for the position of full time Mental Health and Wellness Therapist with an emphasis on CISM to work out of the Kinistin Wellness Center, located on the Kinistin First Nation. The Mental Health and Wellness Therapist will work closely with the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation Mental Wellness Team, the community Health Director, and other staff who provide wellness services. With an emphasis on development of a CISM strategy, the therapist will support the needs of community members who are in crisis, at risk or requiring general or specialized care in the area of Mental Health. The Mental Health and Wellness Therapist will provide support to the organization and its personnel in achieving the organizations mandate, goals and objectives and is responsible for the overall application of clinical and/or psychological methods and theory to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of psychosocial challenges including mental, emotional and behavioural disorders for families and individuals on the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation.
Qualifications
Masters degree in Mental Health and Wellness, Social Work or Psychology. May consider undergraduate degree with level of experience.
Minimum of five years experience as a licensed and certified clinical counsellor.
Minimum of five years experience in therapeutic counselling.
Must be able to work under pressure and high demands/stress.
Most possess strong leadership and teamwork skills.
Knowledge and experience in working with First Nation people, and an understanding of the particular issues encountered by First Nation people.
Ability to speak and/or understand the Saulteaux language is an asset.
