Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Community Sports Coach Coordinator will coach and coordinate sports activities for the youth of Kahkewistahaw First Nation.  They will develop positive relationships with the children and the parents. To encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle while ensuring athletes are in good mental and physical health.  They will coach teams, develop programs, supervise athletes, and ensure adherence to the sports program policies as per the Kahkewistahaw Sports programs. Responsibilities include seeking competitions, preparing athletes for leagues, coordinating activities with surrounding areas, and analyzing community needs and trends to enhance programming. This position is intended to be a flexible schedule that allows time to be spent for the school and community sports.
REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
1. Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology and/ or certificate experience in Physical Education and/ or Coaching.
2. Advanced experience knowledge of the sport associated with the nation.  
3. Organizational skills and communication to deal with students, staff and outside organizations and surrounding schools effectively and efficiently.
4. Have experience and knowledge with computers and software programs.
5. Submit a current Drug Screen Results and a vulnerable sector check
6. Possess a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle.
7. Three (3) current written references with an updated resume and cover letter.
