Description

Reporting to the Program Head, Instructional and Leadership Development Centre (ILDC), the successful candidate will work independently and as part of a provincial instructional team. This could occur in a number of different ways, including creation of online training modules and resources, delivery of education programs and training sessions on various instructional topics. The primary responsibility for the position is to develop and deliver training on indigenization and reconciliation, indigenous pedagogies, and indigenous knowledges and worldview. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering professional development opportunities for faculty to incorporate principles of adult learning into their professional practice for the benefit of all learners.

Develop, implement and evaluate educational and curriculum development initiatives (i.e., faculty and program consultations, training sessions, communities of practice, and resources) that focus on advancing Indigenous perspectives and pedagogies.

Consult with and support academic programs to advance Indigenous perspectives and pedagogies within the context of new academic program development, as well as curriculum review and renewal processes for existing programs.
Provide support, advice and coaching for faculty who want to incorporate indigenous ways of knowing and learning into their classroom; provide awareness, education and tools that will help bridge cultural difference.

Develop and foster community relationships to advance institutional indigenization and reconciliation efforts through community events and partnerships.

Advance instructional and academic leadership development among faculty by utilizing and modeling active learning techniques and through the use of Indigenous pedagogies and Ways of Knowing.
