Opportunity
kiwetinohk maskwa is looking for full-time and part-time experienced Wellness Therapists to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan. This role includes an option for travel to local First Nations communities, and one position involves a 2-week fly-in, fly-out rotation in northern Canada. We seek candidates who are eager to work within a First Nations organization, possess a deep understanding of First Nation traditions, and demonstrate proficiency in clinical case work.
Responsibilities
Provide culturally responsive clinical interventions and counselling services, both in person and through telehealth or virtual means.
Manage complex or high-risk situations with skill and experience.
Employ a combination of nehiyawak, Anihsinapek, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda, Metis, and Western approaches tailored to individual needs.
Show a thorough understanding of First Nations traditional teachings and ceremonies, including integrating traditional healers into wellness work.
Address the effects of residential schools on individual wellness.
Consult appropriately for clinical work and maintain detailed, timely clinical documentation.
Qualifications
Registration with a provincially legislated regulatory body in Saskatchewan (SASW, College of Psychology, Registered Psychiatric Nurses) and approval as an NIHB Therapist.
At least 5 years of practical experience in clinical counseling.
Experience in a therapeutic culturally based capacity.
A valid drivers license and vehicle.
