Description

The Ministry of Highways is seeking a Financial Analyst for a permanent full-time position. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, you will be a key member of the team providing strategic financial advice across the ministry. In doing so, you will:

The ideal candidates will have outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, extensive knowledge of financial guidelines (PSAB), integrated financial systems and activity-based reporting. The successful candidates will be able to anticipate and recognize financial accounting and control issues and their potential implications, develop alternatives, assess options and recommend appropriate solutions. They will have significant knowledge and experience with financial analysis and government accounting processes, financial statements, interpretation and application of variance analysis techniques. They will also have a demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and deliver results while working in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment. The successful candidates will be committed to the ideals of an accountable and well-performing public sector in order to identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.

The successful candidates for this position will be pursuing and/or have completed a professional accounting designation.

An ability to achieve a standard of excellence while having fun and contributing to a positive workplace is essential.
