River Layne Chocolate Couture, located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is seeking an experienced Chocolate Maker Apprentice to join our team.
Required skills:
- Knowledge of Japanese ingredients and flavors, such as matcha, yuzu, and black sesame, and the ability to incorporate these flavors into chocolate products.
- Experience with creating textured chocolates using ingredients like puffed rice, sesame seeds, or matcha powder.
- Expertise in artisanal chocolate making techniques, such as hand tempering chocolate, creating intricate chocolate designs or decorations, or using molds to create unique shapes and textures in chocolate products.
- Understanding of Japanese aesthetics and design principles, and the ability to incorporate these principles into the packaging and presentation of chocolate products.
- Origami for origami-inspired packaging such as folded paper boxes or wrappers that evoke the look and feel of traditional Japanese origami
