Description

The La Loche Housing Authority (LLHA) is currently recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team immediately. If you have proven problem-solving skills, work well in a team environment while leading others, and have experience in building and property maintenance, we would love to hear from you!

Reporting to the Manager of LLHA, this position is responsible to:
-Manage the day to day operations of the maintenance programs for the Housing Authority
-Provide leadership and supervision for the maintenance workers
-Tender and oversee contracted work to ensure work is completed to standard
-Develop and deliver an effective preventative maintenance program

Responsibilities and Requirements:
-Knowledge of the basic techniques employed in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, and electrical
-Experience in estimating, materials purchasing, accounting and budget preparation
-Ability to promote positive working relationships with management, staff, and tenants
-Experience leading a team, supervising, planning, and coordinating employees and works tasks

Qualifications:
-Grade 12 education, familiarity with Microsoft Office, some post-secondary in business or technical/trade training (carpentry, plumbing, electrical) plus 3-5 years experience in a maintenance and repair environment OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
-Self-motivated with the ability to handle stress, while prioritizing workloads and respecting peoples diversity and individual differences
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills
-Ability to organize and participate in an on call program for emergencies for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
-A valid drivers license, reliable, roadworthy vehicle, and an approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector criminal record check are conditions of employment.
