Description

The Saskatchewan Polytechnic Faculty Association (SPFA) is currently seeking a One Year TERM Union Labour (Faculty) Relations Officer, location TBD.  
Working knowledge and recent experience of collective agreements and Provincial (Saskatchewan) and Federal Legislation applicable to unions, is required.
Experience in enhanced communication skills, ensuring communication is free from bias, conflict and negativity is also required.
The applicant must understand, & be committed to, union principles and values & be culturally fluent, working in a diverse organization.
The successful candidate may need to travel, work occasionally on evenings and weekends, with some on-call duties.

Required Qualifications:  
College or University degree in political science, Labour relations, human resources or related field and 5 years of related experience in a unionized environment.
Practical understanding and experience in dealing with: Labour Relations, Human Rights, Workers Compensation, Occupational Health and Safety and Disability Plans.
Strong emotional intelligence, able to interact with members, management and stakeholders from an interest-based approach, ensuring that all members (Saskpolytech faculty) are supported throughout the Labour relations process.
Possess strong time-management, organization & communication skills.  
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, be goal orientated with strong attention to detail.
Ability to be self-directed while working with the SPFA Executive Committee.
Computer literate, working knowledge of Microsoft products, shared drives and Zoom.
Ability to deal with confidential & time sensitive matters in a professional manner.
