Description

The Pense Memorial Rink (PMR), located between Regina and Moose Jaw, requires an Arena Operator for the 2024/25 operating season.  We are searching for people with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn who can grow and develop the skills needed to operate and maintain our great facility for years to come.  Strong and positive communication skills are required in dealing with the public, facility board members, and organizations within the facility.

The Arena operator shall maintain and operate the Pense Memorial Rink (curling and hockey rinks) and associated areas for the duration of the season (Mid September - April) to a reasonable standard.  Key responsibilities include:
    Initial start-up of both ice surfaces
    Operate and maintain hockey ice, including: flooding and scraping with Zamboni and ice edger; maintaining and performing repairs as they arise.  Conducting ice machine maintenance such as blade replacement, greasing, and other preventative maintenance is expected
    Cleaning, pebbling, and scraping of curling ice as needed.
    General cleaning duties are of the upmost importance and include, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, bathrooms, etc
    Assist in the supervision and training of part-time staff in the operation and maintenance of the facility and related equipment.
    Maintain and record daily rounds of the arena compressor room and HVAC equipment and keep an entire facility log book.

The following documentation is required:

- First Aid/CPR Training
- Criminal record check including venerable sector check
-  Valid drivers license
- Arena Operator Level 1 Course is preferred
