The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for the position of Equipment Operator in the Streets and Roadways Department of the Infrastructure and Operations Division. This is a permanent full-time position. Hours of work may vary, based on operational requirements.

Under the direction of the Superintendent/Foreman of Streets and Roadways, this employee will be part of the crew which is responsible for construction, maintenance and repair of streets, lanes, bridges (pedestrian and vehicular), and sidewalks.  The Machine Operator will mainly be required to operate street sweepers, motor graders, excavators, wheel loaders and other related equipment used in the maintenance of roads, streets and lanes.

Basic Requirements:
Grade 12;
Willingness to become Safe Places  Community Certified;
Ground Disturbance;
H2S Alive;
Confined Space;
OH&S- Level 1 & 2;
Traffic Accommodation;
Ability to perform general checks and maintenance on equipment;
Ability to work independently and without supervision as required; and
Ability to work well with other employees.

Desirable Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid Class 3A Saskatchewan Drivers License;
Equipment Specific PME Certification & Experience in the operation of Excavator, Loader, and Grader;
Flagperson Training;
Rigging and Boom Truck Certification; and
Pest Control Applicator Certification;
