The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Assist in implementing prevention programs and initiatives under the guidance of the Prevention Coordinator.
Facilitate community information sessions on effective and healthy parenting practices to promote positive family dynamics.
Provide information, counseling, and support services to families using a Community-Based model of childcare.
Screen for child safety concerns, including risks of abuse and neglect, and communicate identified risks to appropriate parties.
Assist in identifying the need for family support services and available resources within and outside the community.
Develop and implement case plans with short and long-term goals for families on the caseload.
Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date case documentation, including intake, screening, assessment reports, and progress notes.
Conduct all tasks in adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures governing child protection and family support services.
Maintain statistical data and prepare monthly, interim, and final activity reports as required by committees and funders.
Respects and protects the privacy of information relating to all company clients, employees, and business affairs.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Psychology, or a related field.
Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of cultural contexts is preferred.
Knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and best practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and proficiency in documentation.
A high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
Valid Class 5 driver's license
