If you have always wanted a forestry summer job where you can make a positive difference for the environment, joining the team at Saskatchewan Ministry of Environments Forest Service in 2025 will put your skills and education to work!
There are many opportunities for forestry/natural resources students and recent graduates here in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan including 4 month summer terms, co-op terms (4 and 8 months) and extended summer terms up to 9 months if you are not returning to school in the fall.
Skills You Should Have:
- You should be familiar with use of field navigation tools (compass, GPS, paper and digital map products).
- You will have a basic forest ecology, basic statistical principles, forest harvesting operations, silviculture operations and know how to identify boreal forest trees, shrubs and herbs.
- You will be familiar with basic GIS skills needed to produce field maps and basic office software like Word and Excel.
- You will have the ability to work well in a team environment, communicate effectively and collect field data neatly and completely are required skills.
- Having a valid First Aid training is considered an asset.
