Administrative Assistant
The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum.
Position Overview:
The ADEA is seeking an Administrative Assistant (temporary-full time position) to be based at its Central Office, Prince Albert Sk. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the position will:
Provides direct support to Senior Management, and Human Resources (HR)
Provide direction related to information flow and service delivery efficiently and effectively
Prepare accurate letters, memos, and correspondence within deadlines
Process incoming and outgoing mail, and maintain electronic and manual filing system according to protocol
Process other office administrative clerical procedures such calendar management, scheduling appointments, drafting correspondences/messages, and onboarding/offboarding HR processes.
Qualifications include:
A business/office administrative certification or similar qualification would be an asset.
A strong commitment to First Nations education.
Knowledge of Denesuline language and culture would be a benefit.
Excellent time management skills: to be able to prioritize activities, especially when there is a high volume of tasks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to take initiative.
