The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum.
Position Overview:
The ADEA is seeking an Accounting Assistant (temporary-full time position) to be based at its Central Office, Prince Albert Sk. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the position will:
Supports the material ordering process of the Authority/school(s), monitors receivables as authorized and supports payment process to approved vendors.
Maintains all required methods and records to supports accounts receivable.
Participates in Authority directed in-service as required.
Assist in the development of procedures relative to the business and accounting related functions.
Maintain digital and physical financial and accounting records
Review, file and submit accounting documents
Qualifications include:
A post secondary degree in business administration or another relevant field.
A professional accounting designation is an asset.
Experience with QuickBooks Accounting Software is an asset
A strong commitment to First Nations education.
Knowledge of Denesuline language and culture would be a benefit.
Ability to work collaboratively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The ability to take initiative.
