Northwest School Division, Meadow Lake Office, requires a temporary, full-time Mental Health Capacity Building Wellness Promoter with duties to commence immediately or on a mutually agreed upon date and terminate July 31, 2027.
The Wellness Promoter reports to the Mental Health Capacity Building School Coordinator and is accountable to the Deputy Director of Education. The Wellness Promoter works as part of a team to meet objectives of the Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) program. These objectives are met by developing and delivering developmentally appropriate, evidence-based programming to children, youth and families. The Wellness Promoter is expected to spend 80% of work time in direct contact with children, youth, school staff or parents.
The successful candidate will have a related post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in the health or social sciences field (e.g. health promotion and prevention, kinesiology, social work, nursing, psychology, public health, or early childhood development) or a relevant combination of education and experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in promotion, prevention, and/or client-based services of addictions and mental health. As well as knowledge of mental health and wellness, health promotion and prevention philosophy, strategies and principles, and child and youth development.
