Reporting to the Food Division Manager, you will:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Meat Department, including meat cutting, pricing, inventory management, and implementing marketing programs.
- Achieve budgeted goals by managing pricing, sales, margins, expenses, and inventory, while optimizing sales.
- Ensure adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, store image, safety, and asset protection.
- Build strong customer relationships by resolving issues, monitoring satisfaction levels, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance profit and customer experience.
- Lead and develop the team through recruiting, training, performance management, and appraisals to ensure a high-performing department.
- Oversee safety and environmental policies to maintain a safe environment for employees and customers, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Ensure compliance with government standards and regulations, promoting a safe and efficient operation in the store.
Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Journeyperson Meat Cutter Certificate preferred
Business diploma or certificate would be an asset
At least 5 years experience in the Meat Department
3 5 years supervisory/retail management experience preferably in the food/grocery industry is preferred
Food Handling Certificate
