Description

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Operations, the Director of Food Service and is responsible for the development of a procurement procedure and oversight of food spending association wide. This role will lead the Food Service Team, provide support and guidance for the YWCA Regina Caf and education program Manager, and work to expand food security and sustainability for our programs.  The position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of food safety and budget management. Additionally, the Food Service Director must coordinate with suppliers, manage food inventory, and strive to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Operational oversight of daily operations for the Food Service Department
Hiring, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers
Marketing and promotion - in conjunction with Manager of Food Services
Establish and maintain a positive partnership with Community/Business/Vendors
Supply order and inventory tracking
Budget management/tracking and spending approval
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Maintain a high quality of food and customer service
Maintain highest standards of SHA Food Safe regulations
Provide assistance to the Manager of Food Service with the menu development for the childcares as informed by Ministry of Education
Qualifications:
Experience working in a commercial kitchen
Food service and safe food handling experience
Experience supervising staff/volunteers, as well as knowledge sharing and training
Experience using the Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google platforms
Self-directed, demonstrated ability to work effectively without direct supervision or guidance
Knowledge of the community systems and services as well as Trauma Informed Care would be an asset
Inventory Management and budget oversight and tracking
Must have a current Drivers License
Must be able to provide a criminal record check
