Description

The Design Branch within the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways is seeking an energetic, strategic, and highly motivated leader to join our team as Hydraulic Manager in the Regina, Saskatoon, or Prince Albert office. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a dedicated team in the delivery of the Ministrys culvert rehabilitation and replacement program and providing support to the Ministry in matters related to hydrology, drainage, and culvert hydraulics.

Reporting to the Director of Design Standards and Hydraulic Design Delivery, the successful candidate will be responsible for a diverse group of approximately 6 professionals located in Regina and Saskatoon.

The ideal candidate will have:

- An Engineering degree and be registered as a professional engineer with APEGS or possess extensive equivalent experience and have obtained a licensee membership with APEGS;
- Several years of progressively responsible experience and knowledge in program and project management, highway design, construction, contract administration, and contract and procurement law, with specific experience in hydraulic design preferred;
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in the application of engineering concepts, principles, practices, and standards used in the planning, design, construction, and rehabilitation of the provincial transportation network, including hydrology and culvert hydraulics;
- General knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, asset management, maintenance and preservation, operations, and human resources; and
- General knowledge of The Highway and Transportation Act, The Highway Traffic Act, The Cities Act, The Municipalities Act, and The Occupational Health and Safety Act.
