This incumbent is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the City of Weyburn Engineering Department. The Director of Engineering provides oversight and project management for all Engineering aspects of projects and initiatives undertaken by the Engineering, Public Works and Water Treatment Departments.
Administration
    Development and monitoring of annual budgets, identifying areas for improvement and correcting overall deficiencies
    Provide timely project reports, presentations, documentation as required to customers, senior management and City Council.
    Develop and implement policies, procedures and programs.
    Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and good documentation practices are followed to track all work make data analysis efficient and drive reduction in deviations.
    Act as the liaison to internal and external stakeholders and provides direction for the development and facilitation of strategies and initiatives on all matters relevant to the City of Weyburns Engineering, Public Works department, Water Treatment Plant and Airport.

Education & Experience requirements
    Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
    Eligibility for membership as a professional Engineer in the province of Saskatchewan.
    Asset Management Professional designation an asset.
    Procurement Professional Training and asset.
      Minimum eight years experience working as an Engineer  
      Minimum five years experience in a Management Position; and  
      Experience within a municipal environment would be considered an asset
